POLICE FORCE ASKS FOR MEN

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Calling for forty or more recruits for the Harvard Volunteer Auxiliary Police Company, Mason Hammond '25 associate professor of Greek and Latin yesterday explained that the company would be used as a reserve force to police University property. Volunteers are asked to report to Memorial Hall on either Monday or Wednesday night.

Enrollees must be American citizens, and must be willing to spend one night a week at military drill and lectures on the elements of police law. Faculty and staff members as well as students are eligible, and upon completion of the course they will be available for duty on the force.

Of the members of the course, men over 21 will be enrolled as special police officers of Cambridge, while younger men will receive the necessary authority to patrol Harvard property from the University itself.
