EFFORT TO SPREAD WAR SPIRIT URGED

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Maintaining that a spirit of obstructionism which threatened the war effort was beginning to appear in this country, American Defense Harvard Group yesterday recommended specific methods of building a favorable public attitude toward the war.

Emphasizing that "total mobilization makes every individual a vital part of the national effort," the Group attempted to define the position of the public at the present time, discuss our aims in the war, and suggest concrete means by which radio and the press can promote a cooperative spirit in the country.

The group asked that the truth about the war be presented without disproportionate emphasis on mistakes and military defeats. "It is perfectly legitimate," it declared, "that there should be different opinions on questions of method, but there is only one end, the defeat of the Axis powers."
