LACROSSEMEN BOW TO M. I. T.
Final Rally Fails, Though Team Shows Improvement
Staging a last minute rally which threatened to tie the game, the Varsity lacrosse team bowed today, eight to six, to a favored Tech squad. The Crimson appeared to be in better condition, but with one defense man put out, a final tally by M. I. T. sealed the game.
Most of the Crimson score was the work of first attack Jay Hurley, while Heckel was high scorer for the opponents. Johnnie Moot and Tom Bridge starred for the Crimson defense while Captain Wally Fenn played an excellent game. Hurley and Mal Donahue held down the inside attack positions.
Next game on the Varsity schedule is with Springfield next Saturday. Despite a record of four losses so far in the season, Coach Ben Martin said that the team has shown a real improvement in the games and in practice and ought to have at least an equal chance in any of the remaining games of the season.
