Allen C. Percival '42, of Fitchburg and Kirkland House, was chosen from the Military Science R.O.T.C. Unit to receive a regular commission as second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation this June, it was announced yesterday.
Percival, a cadet captain, honor student, and regimental adjutant of the field artillery unit, was chosen from among 75 Seniors for the honor, which is awarded each year to an outstanding member of the graduating group of the regiment. A commission in the regular army is also awarded annually to an outstanding member of the unit's graduating class.
His commission will probably be in the field artillery unit of the Marine Corps Percival revealed, although no official confirmation has as yet been received from Washington.
