RAINY DAY DISCOURAGES HARVARD PARTICIPANTS
Rain dampened the interest of students yesterday, only about a dozen men turned out to march in the "I Am An American" Day parade. The Military Science Department contributed 65 uniformed marchers, while Free France, ARP workers, and other groups were represented.
The University band was marching in force, and was one of the 25-odd musical units that took part in the show, which was witnessed by thousands along the route.
Essentially, it was a civilian defense parade, Hundreds ARP wardens and fire-fighters made their first public appearance.
