Continuing in its efforts to make this year's Freshman Smoker "the greatest Yardling Shindig of all time," the Committee, through its chairman Richard McCarthy, announced yesterday the addition of another ranking entertainer to its list of stars. The newcomer is Anne White, famed in Boston cafe society circles as a singer of sophisticated songs.
The Smoker Committee also announced a new policy in regard to ticket sales. Unlike past years, when upperclassmen were given an opportunity to purchase any pasteboards left over after the Yardlings completed their buying, this year's Smoker will be strictly a Freshman affair, with all upperclassmen excluded.
This innovation is in line with the suggestion made by the Student Council and University Hall that the Smoker would best serve its primary purpose, that of making the Class of '45 a more closely-knit unit, if all except Freshmen were barred.
