FRESHMAN 150'S DEFEAT M.I.T.; WIN TIGER TRIP

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Pulling a dead length ahead of the other Yardling boat and leaving the M. I. T. freshman a length and a half in its wake at the end of yesterday's Henley, Ollie Filley's 150 1b. Freshman crew won for itself a trip down to Princeton and a place at the start of the Goldthwait Cup race that is being run off Saturday.

Leading by a quarter of a length until the last twenty strokes, the other Freshman lightweight boat, stroked by Pete Hodges, which has been neck and neck with Filley's shell all season, didn't seem to have the last minute drive, and Filley's boat surged ahead to win the race.

Although Bert Haines' '45 oarsmen will not have a lick at the cup itself, which is awarded to the winner of the Varsity race, they will have a chance to show their worth against the Yale and Princeton Freshman crews in the regatta.
