SUMMER BAND PLAYS TODAY

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

For the first time the College will resound this summer with the pleasant strains of a Summer School band, which holds its initial rehearsal this evening in Paine Hall.

Sponsored by the University Band, students, including girls, will be given an opportunity to play weekly under the direction of Malcolm H. Holmes '28, who is already busy with the Summer School Orchestra. No concerts have as yet been planned and the rehearsals will be informal and aimed at giving the players experience and pleasure.

It is possible that Yard Concerts may be held later in the summer, since the regular Band's contribution to the spring Yard concerts were so well received, and a chance to play again has been assured if the new Band does well enough at rehearsals.

No tryouts will be held and anyone who has any ability in the way of musical instruments is encouraged to come out. For those who do not have instruments of their own a limited supply is available from the University Band.
