No Vacation for ERC Inductees, Says Army

Enlisted Reservists who report to Champ Devens on March 11 will be immediately on active duty, and will get no leave before starting the processing procedure, Elliott Perkins '23, director of the War Service Information Bureau, explained last night. Since they are already technically inducted and are merely being activated, they will not receive the respite customarily given selectees.

Several clerical errors at the source produced a certain amount of confusion and surprise among ERC men who had expected no orders yesterday. A large number of Mil Sci 2 men received orders from the Command, but the Department, checking immediately, pointed out the error and had the orders straightened out. The same thing happened to several pre-medical students and others deferred for curricular reasons, but no policy change was involved in any case.
