APRIL EXAMS REQUIRED FOR FULL SPRING CREDIT

Men Leaving Before April 10 Need Test

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Any undergraduate leaving college to join the armed services between now and April 10 can receive credit in those courses in which he takes some form of exam during that period, Dean Hanford announced yesterday.

No credit can be given to men who have already left, he said, pointing out that it was necessary to set some absolute deadline and that it could not have been earlier than the first of this month. Students who leave after April 10 will have taken tests in all their courses and so will automatically receive full credit.

Students who leave before the scheduled test in any course can request a special exam, but Dean Hanford emphasized that these arrangements were entirely up to the instructor concerned.

Mid-term Grades on Request

Students who have to leave before the April test and, therefore cannot qualify for the April cumulative grade, may request a mid-term grade as of March 25 in any regular Freshman course. This grade will be put on the student's record as a "report of progress" but will not count for final credit.

It is possible that these examinations will be used after the war for those men who want to reenter College in the middle of the term. Application for a midterm grade under these conditions may be made at the Dean's Office.

Pre-April 10th Men

Conditions to be met for students whose active duty begins after April 10, 1943 include the stipulation that the date of withdrawal from College must not be earlier than the day which will give the student a maximum of one week at his home before actually entering the services.

All assignments and final examinations that fall within that period must be completed, even though cumulative grades may have already been reported to the Dean's Office.
