Although the calendar as announced by the University in the new catalogue for the year 1943-44 is still subject to revisions made necessary by the war emergency, it can be safely assumed that all upperclassmen will not have to register until July--6. Incoming Freshmen and transfer students will however have to be signed in at University Hall by the first of July.
Holidays and recesses have not been seriously curtailed, as was previously expected, a week's vacation being allowed between terms and all the small vacations given as usual. Christmas Holiday, however, does not extend over New Years as in former years.
This calendar is invalid as far as students in the military reserve groups are concerned since these students are expected to receive orders to appear in Cambridge by the first of July. It is still not certain whether the Navy will grant leaves to men during the recesses or not, but at any rate all courses given by the University will be discontinued during these periods.
