New Freshmen Expected to Strengthen Winter Team

Winter track practice will get under way as soon as the coming vacation ends, it was announced yesterday by Jaako Mikkola, head track and cross country coach.

While there will be no set schedule of practice for field men in the informal program, such men will be welcomed into the Crimson fold. Included in the list of running events will be the dashes, 300, 600, 1000, and possibly a mile and two mile relay.

According to Coach Mikkola, the team will work out on the Freshman cinder track as long as weather permits, shifting inside to the Briggs Cage boards as Winter approaches. Jaako considers the Briggs Cage oval one of the fastest board tracks in the country.

B.A.A. Meet to Climax Season

A full schedule of meets is expected, including dual meets with Tufts, Exeter, and Andover. Climax of the winter season will be the annual B.A.A. Games which are held in the Boston Garden on the second Saturday in February and bring together the best track material from the nation.
