Slowly rounding into shape through daily workouts in Briggs Cage, the Crimson will open its winter track season next Saturday in a dual meet against Tufts at Medford.
Coach Mikkola reports a large turnout in the running events, and through time trials he is getting an idea of which distances his runners are best suited for. In the field events, though, he has only Jeff Tootel in the shot put and Pete Harwood in the pole-vault.
Two Mile Relay Included
Larger than the Briggs Cage board oval, the Tufts indoor cinder track is 220 yards to the lap. Included in the dual meet will be the 50, 300, 600, 1000, mile and a half, two mile relay, pole-vault, and shot put.
In addition to Tufts, the Crimson will meet Exeter on January 20, and Andover on January 27, and will also compete in the annual B.A.A. Games in February.
