FOUR TEAMS TIE FOR FIRST POSITION AS INTRAMURAL FIVES SWING INTO ACTION
Dudley Outplays Winthrop In Second Overtime, 16-14
It was sudden death basketball yesterday afternoon, as the intramural House tournament swung into its second day of play. And when the whistle had blown, it was Dudley over Winthrop, after one minute of the second overtime period, by a score of 16 to 14. In the day's opener a strong Kirkland squad topped Adams 20 to 13.
Yesterday's win, the first athletic victory of the season for the Commuters, puts them into the exalted position of a four-place tie for the lead with Kirkland, Navy Company 1, which won by default Wednesday from Company 2, and Navy Company 3, who beat Navy Company 4 the same day.
Nine Teams in Action
With nine teams operating on the Indoor Athletic Building courts, the Physical Education Department has scheduled 14 more games for the first half of the competition, which will run 'till December 18. In addition to the teams already mentioned, Lowell House, which fielded a strong entry last spring, will round out the list of entrants.
