New Class Begins In Communications

350 Navy Men Will Receive Basic, Advanced Training

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Approximately 350 officers will form the new class entering NTS (Communications) on Monday, but to the average civilian they will seem another wave on the sea of Navy blue which has been surging in and out of the Yard since the school was established in July, 1942.

Going through its course of three months of basic communications, with an additional month of specialized communications for some men, the class will bear the uninspiring but informative serial number 445, the condensed date of its arrival. "445" will be made up of men ranking from ensign to lieutenant commander. The class will have a varied background since its complement will have come from sea duty, indoctrination school, and midshipmen's school. Yard dorms will, as before, provide quarters for the class.

Graduation Today

Sanders Theatre will be the scene of graduation ceremonies for the senior class of the school. The exercises will take place at 0900 this morning, and Commander M. E. Paradise, USNR, Officer in Charge NTS (Communications) will be the principal speaker.
