Exeter Lacrosse Team Swamps Crimson 14-1
Harvard's lacrossemen, facing a more experienced fee and crippled by a lack of substitutes, succumbed to a second-half whirlwind and lost to a powerful Exeter squad Wednesday on Soldiers Field, 14 to 1. In the first meeting of the two clubs, held earlier in the season, the Crimson was conquered by a score of 19 to 0.
For the first quarter of the contest on Wednesday the Harvard stick-wielders held off the visitors, the period ending with the score tied at one-all. But with only on substitute to choose from, the Crimson men began to be worn down. The next frame saw Exeter tally three more goals while holding the home team scoreless.
The second half brought the onslaught. Wearied and unable to find replacements until near the close of the contest, when several late-comers arrived upon the scene, the Crimson squad was unable to halt the parade of scores by the opposition.
