Cornel West, Harvard Affiliates Call for University to Divest from ‘Israeli Apartheid’ at Rally
Bob Clafin, Harvard's number one 175-pound wrestler, injured his right ankle in practice yesterday and may be unable to compete when the Crimson opens its season at MIT this Saturday.
Claflin was wrestling don Louria when Louria caught his foot in a tight hold and Claflin fell on his back. He was helped to the Blockhouse medical room where cold water was applied in reduce the swelling.
If Claflin is unable to compete, Coach Butch Jordan will probably use Stan Thompson, rather than move Louria up to the 175-pound division. Louria currently weights 166 and will wrestle MIT's ace, Dick Lemmerman, in the 165-pound class Saturday.
Lineup Nearly Certain
Jordan completed the job of separating the men from the boys at yesterday's session and his lineup is fairly well set now. By beating Conrad Brevick in the 121-pound class, Joe Kozol will represent the Crimson in the only division that was still uncertain. Although Dave Coombs is Jordan's leading lightweight; he weighs 129 and won't be down to 121 before the Wesleyan match next Wednesday. The Crimson figures to take 121-pound honors against Tech without Coombs.
In other departments, Dave Smith will wrestle at 128, Roger Wach at 136, captain Dan Ray at 145, and Howie Houston, unlimited. Jayvee football coach Ben McCabe is assisting Jordan while John Chaffee is handling the freshmen.
