Fencers Outplay Tiger Swordsmen

With a 9 to 0 shutout in the saber event, Rene Peroy's varsity fencers slashed their way to a decisive 18 1/2 to 8 1/2 victory over the Princeton swordsmen Saturday afternoon in the Block-house.

Going into the last event with a slim 9 1/2 to 8 1/2 advantage, Norm Ellis, Neil MacNeil, and Captain John Gay all came through with wins to give the Crimson its third triumph of the current season.

Princeton took an early lead in toils, scoring by 5 to 4 over Ray Frankmann, Stan Sheldon, and Bill Raney. The Crimson came back in the epee as Giles Constable, John Agar, and Chip Arp registered by 5 1/2-3 1/2 to send the home team into a one-point lead. The winners clinched the match in the saber competition.

The Varsity sees action against next Saturday when Columbia comes to town.
