Harvard football attendance for the present football season is well above the national average but still far below the nation's leaders according to figures released by the Associated Press last night.
The Harvard attendance which has been estimated at close to 100,000 compares favorably to the 23,400 per-game average for 112 schools but is far from the midwestern universities. Michigan is the nation's leader with 291,707 gross for three games.
Eastern schools show an over all decline over last year's attendance, the national average a four percent rise. This rise is largely due to the southwest which shows a 29 percent increase and the far west which boasts a 7 percent gain.
