‘The Architect of the Whole Plan’: Harvard Law Graduate Ken Chesebro’s Path to Jan. 6
NEW HAVEN, Conn., Nov. 18--The freshman soccer team was unable to piece together any sort of coherent offensive pattern yesterday and as a result it lost to Yale, 1 to 0.
The game resembled a long range kicking contest more than a soccer match as the Crimson attack limited itself to six shots at the Blue goal, spending most of the 80 minutes making unaimed down field kicks. Despite the fact that the Yardling defense worked brilliantly, Yale scored because it controlled the ball for the entire game. The freshmen took only two shots during the second half.
The lone tally came after one minute of the final quarter. Bart Lechalier, Eli right inside, dribbled through the Harvard defense and booted a low hard kick which seemed to be aimed wide of the goal. Center forward Tom Hopkins managed to get a foot in the path of the ball and deflected it just enough to send it high into the lefthand corner of the nets.
