Harrison Claims Negro Education System Improved

"The situation of the Negro is American Schools is improving," William E. Harrison '34, associate editor of the Boston Chronicle told a meeting of the Young Progressives in the Nobel Room of PBH last night. He would make no predictions, however, as to when the condition would be righted.

Harrison, speaking on the subject, "Negroes in American Colleges," gave the historical background of the problem, bringing in incidents at Harvard to illustrate his speech.

"Although organizations such as the NAACP are very helpful, it is the spontaneous demonstration by student organizations which do the most good for the minority cause," Harrison said.
