In an effort to inject some humor into their house organ, the editors of the Lampoon have turned over their October issue to the staff of the noted Mid Western funny mag, the Ponca City University "Pontoon."
The robust Iowans will take over the door spit structure at the corner of Bow and Mr. Auburn Streets in a public ceremony at 1:15 p.m. tomorrow.
At the same time, the former proprietors of the Poon will be fleeing to Iowa where President Harry Arcade will give them the keys to the college.
William James, proxy of the "Pontoon," announced yesterday the changes which he and his board hope to put through at the aviary. "No more of this pallid imitation of the New Yorker.' We're going to print two-line jokes, funny articles, and humorous cartoons. It's going to be a complete change."
The reason for this change-over has not been revealed, but it is known that in recent years the present occupants of the building have been forced to sell Dutch tile and men's clothing in an effort to keep up appearances.
