Crimson Golfers Beat Favored Babson Team

In the biggest upset of the season, the varsity golf team yesterday trounced Babson Institute, 6 1-2 to 2 1-2. The best-ball match was played at the Dedham Country and Polo Club.

Crimson golfers took four of the six individual matches. Dave Gorman had little trouble with Babson's Jim Hunt, taking a 6 and 5 victory. Doug Wilde and Sam Seager won their matches 3 and 2 and 4 and 3, respectively. Paul Weissman defeated Ike Broadbent 3 and 1.

Dick Johnson's 72, low medal of the day. was too much for Crimson Captain Bob Matson. who dropped a 2 and 1 contest. Jack Denton also lost his match.

The Mason-Gorman and Wilde-Seager twosomes won their best-ball matches, with Weissman-Denton splitting.

Brown furnishes the varsity's opposition today at the Belmont Country Club, while the freshmen play Exeter, away tomorrow.
