Lacrosse Team Will Oppose Weak Tech Squad at Home

By Bayley F. Mason

Overconfidence will probably give the varsity lacrosse team more trouble than M.I.T., when the Crimson meets the Engineers at 3:45 p.m. today on the Business School Field. Comparative scores make the varsity a very definite favorite in what should be a warm-up for a league game with Williams Saturday.

Crimson Coach Bruce Munro admitted yesterday his team should beat Tech, but cautioned "I always worry about underdog M.I.T. teams. If we play this game with the right attitude nothing should go wrong otherwise the results could be disastrous."

Tech has thus far played the Boston Lacrosse Club, Yale, and Dartmouth. In losing to all three, the Engineers have scored only nine points to the opposition's 50. Harvard has averaged eight points a game in compiling a four, three, and one record.

Yesterday Munro held a practice to work out some charley horses and to run off some extra-man plays. Though he was "more than satisfied" with last Saturday's tie game with Springfield, Munro felt that the Crimson lost several scoring chances when Springfield had men in the penalty box.

Probable varsity lineups:

HARVARD

Attack: Hudner, Yest, and Pliasner; Midfields; Birdsall, Davidson (C), and Post; Graham, Davis, and Waring; Brooke, Lynch, and Mauran; Defense; Spence, Byrne, and Coburn; Goal: Clark.

M.I.T.

Attack: Aycrigg, Lea (C), and Hucke; Midfield: Haven, Pearlman, and Bolta; Defense: Hitchins, Sharp (C), and Helfrisch; Goal: Butzow.
