Mon began arriving this week at the new Graduate Center, which will provide graduate students in Cambridge with their first large dormitory and social center. William James and Richards Halls will house men from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Schools of Design, Education, and Public Administration.
Designed in modern style by Walter Gropins, the eight new halls were constructed with a view to keeping building costs as low as possible. The seven dormitories held almost 600 men, two-thirds of whom are Law School students.
The Center also includes, a large Commons building.
Dedication ceremonies will take place on October 6.
