The Crimson varsity continued to stress pass offense and defense yesterday afternoon in preparation for this weekend's game with powerful Cornell.
The defensive squad donned padded suits while the first string offense sent pass and running plays at them from single and double wing formations. Coach Lloyd Jordan continued to experiment with his backfield, having at various times Bob Ray, Dusty Burke, and John McNamara running and passing from the tailback position. Former fullback Ray and Burke, previously a defensive end, ran both hard and well in the hour-long scrimmage.
Wingback John Tulenko, whose injured leg kept him out of the Columbia game, scrimmaged yesterday and will probably be all right for Saturday. Defensive end Dou Cass, also victim of a leg injury, is working into shape.
Later in the practice, the first defense lined up against the jayvees, who worked Cornell T formation passes with Bob Gremp playing Big Red quarterback Rocco Calvo.
