A powerful offense combining effective passing and speedy running gave the Brown freshman football squad a decisive 46 to 13 victory over the Yardling team Saturday on Soldiers Field.

The Bruins gained 17 first downs and 530 yards against a porous Crimson defense. Quarterback Pete Kohut led the onslaught, passing for three scores and bucking through the line for a fourth.

With Brown leading,19 to 0, at the start of the second half, the Crimson offense, working for the first time from the "T", began to gain ground. Paul Murphy spotted Bob Bowles with a 35-yard touchdown pass, and after end Bob Cochran blocked a punt deep in Brown territory, Murphy flipped to Joe Ross for the final Harvard score.

Murphy's passing was the bright spot for the freshmen, his aerials netting 187 yards on nine completions. Bob Cochran was brilliant, receiving five Murphy passes for long gains.
