Close to a thousand books went out of Lamont for the vacation yesterday, the library's circulation desk reported last night.
Jams developed around 3 p.m. at both the first and third level desks as students scrambled for choice reserve books which they could hold until January 7.
During the Christmas layoff, Lamont will vacation Sundays through Tuesdays and will stay open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturday 1 p.m. A nucleus of course books will be kept in the library for the use of stay-at-homes.
