Houses Back Crimson Key Weekend Plans With Loan

'All-College' Programme Announced

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The eight House committees will provide funds to enable the Crimson Key Society to begin preparations for its third annual All-College Weekend to be held May 9-10, Coordinator Joseph A. Broido '52 said last night.

"Each House," said Broido, "will lend $30 in the form of a non-interest bearing loan to the Crimson Key Society." This money, which in past years had been borrowed from Key cabinet members, will cover operating expenses until tickets go on sale in April.

The festivities will include dances, plays, picnics, and sporting events. The climax will be a dance on Saturday night, May 10. Arrangements have been made to hold it at the Indoor Athletic Building, and at present the Key is trying to hire a "name" band.

Because of the new financial arrangement, the activities will be centered in the Houses. Broido said, "It is our hope that we will be able to arrange some event at each House on Friday night."

Sports Program Scheduled

A full sports program is already on the schedule. Crimson teams will compete with Yale in track and Holy Cross in baseball, and the Adams Cup crew race with Princeton and Navy will take place on the Charles. The Band will perform at the crew race, and, if possible, the Glee Club will also participate in the weekend's activities.

"The individual events will be scheduled so as to have something going every minute and to avoid conflict," Broido said. The weekend, itself, comes immediately after the senior generals and individuals and directly before the beginning of the spring reading period.

Because as Broido said, "the success of the affair depends on the support of the entire College," the date was chosen so that it would not conflict with the Freshman Jubilee. Last year's weekend was generally considered a success.
