Dudley Richards, figure skating star and Lowell House junior, returns today from Lake Placid where he has been performing since Friday in the General Motors Ice Show.

While there, he practiced for the World team tryouts, which will be held in Europe early in 1953. He was accompanied by Tenley Albright of Boston, women's senior figure skating champion.

Richards, strong contender for Dick Button's Olympic figure skating crown, was National Junior Champion in 1950. For the last two years he has placed fifth in world competition, and took a fourth last year in the Colorado Springs National Championships.

He is one of three undergraduates who have won varsity letters in a non-varsity sport.

Only other winners of such awards were Olympic Figure Skating Champion Dick Button '52, and the world famous amateur golfer, Bobby Jones. Button recently turned professional himself, although he is still attending the Law School, where he is a first-year man.
