Harvard's national champion intercollegiate sailing team completed a sweep of all major fall meets yesterday, taking the Fowlie Trophy from a field of eight New England college teams.
The Crimson topped M.I.T. by winning three out of five races in the finals after beating out Worcester Polytech and Rhode Island State in earlier races.
Charlie Hoppin skippered the first Crimson boat, with Dave Cabot his crew. Jim Nathanson, skipper, and Gordon Beggs, crew, manned the second boat. Tim Brown and George Robertson skippered the other boats. Fred Hoppin, Charlie's younger brother, crewed for Brown, and A. C. Langworthy crewed for Robertson.
The team decided last night to enter the Angston Trophy Invitational Meet in Chicago over the Thanksgiving weekend. Nathanson will skipper the A division boat with Beggs his crew. Brown will skipper the B division boat with Langworthy his crew. Teams from all over the country will be entered at Chicago.
