Wellesley Femmes Make Hay, Study in Summer, Poll Finds

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Hard-working Wellesley students take no respite over the summer. At least this is the story they gave the Wellesley Placement Office on its recent survey.

Nearly two-thirds of the girls who returned the questionaire reported that they spent their summers either diligently working or improving their minds through study or travel.

More than half of the girls held paid jobs and their earnings came to the grand total of $136,222.52. Of the remainder, 14 percent did volunteer work, 18 percent attended summer school or studied privately, and 35 percent travelled.
