Police Crack Down on Cars In Local Area Over Weekend

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Cambridge police handed out over 300 traffic tickets between 2 and 4 a.m. Saturday morning in the parking area around the Houses and were out again bright and early Sunday taking down license plate numbers. No Sunday tagging was reported however.

Official sources said that City Manager John B. Atkinson ordered police to intensity the ticket campaign after he made an inspection of the local parking situation.

The present clampdown was described by the sources as one of the occasional drives and is not expected to last for too long a period.
