Facing probably the best team it has played this year, the freshman lacrosse team didn't have a chance to best a hard playing, well coordinated Eli ten, and lost 21 to 4.

It was apparent from the beginning that the Yardlings din't have the material to compete against the smooth playing, tricky shooting Bulldogs. The Blue midfield was the outstanding factor in the topheavy score with the first three midfielders accounting for 13 of the Yale tallies.

The four Crimson tallies were spread out with one coming in each quarter In the first period Tim Anderson scored on a solo. Jim Dorsey got his in the second period on an extra man play set up by Anderson. Pete Palches marked in the third quarter, and Tom Whedon finished the Crimson scoring with a goal on a feed by John Taylor.

Yale's outstanding player was Bob "Suds" Sutherland. All New England midfielder from Andover and captain of last year's Andover team. Sutherland scored five of the Blue goals and would have scored more but for fine defensive play by Tom Crump. Other Eli stalwarts were Jim Ostheimer, a midfielder who tallied for four markers, and Tom Eastman, the captain, another four goal man.

The only outstanding Crimson players were Anderson at midfield. Crump at defense, and Dorsey at attack.
