ROBINSON, MAXIM MATCHED

Middleweight champ Sugar Ray Robinson and Light Heavyweight champion Joey Maxim were finally matched in a 15-round fight for Maxim's title, June 23, at Yankee Stadium.

After months of hemming and hawing over terms the match was announced by Jim Norris, president of the International Boxing Club. Norris also revealed there was a return bout clause, calling for another fight within 90 days if Robinson won the title.
