Symphony Hall Date Sparks Band Retinue; Springfield Visit Due

A Symphony Hall concert featuring Harvard music on March 20 highlights the spring schedule of the Band, Peter Strauss '54, student manager, announced yesterday.

The concert will be sponsored by the Harvard Club of Boston and is planned as a "light program" with emphasis on College music.

A second important performance for the 100-piece ensemble will be held at Springfield, Feb. 22. The Band immediately follows the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra at Community Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio.

Drumbeat Concert Due

The Band will again participate in the annual Radcliffe "Drumbeats and Song" at Sanders Theatre on March 6. Radcliffe's Drumbeats society will present its usual original musical, and the Band will entertain during the other half of the program.

The Band may go on tour throughout the east. No formal arrangements have been made yet, however, Strauss said. Concerts are tentatively scheduled for Beverly and Lowell, Mass.

Malcolm Holmes '28, conductor, will lead the concerts.

The Band has not played in Symphony Hall for at least four years.
