As the Adams, House Ice Cream Derby heads round the last turn today, a black horse, chocolate chip, has forged ahead of the favorites--chocolate and vanilla--and seems an almost certain winner.

In the popularity race, sponsored by the Adams House Food Committee, coffee has the best chance of snatching a last minute victory. Pistachio, frozen pudding and peppermint stick are far in the rear.
