Stations WHRB and WRRB last night announced that they have reached an informal operational agreement.
In a statement released jointly by Richard S. Rosenbloom '54 of WHRB, and Aida Romanoff '54 of WRRB, the stations said that the agreement will provide for cooperative production and training efforts, but it was emphasized that the agreement in no way will curtail the stations' independent broadcasting operations.
David Levi '54, Station Manager of WHRB, said that the first project planned for the two stations is a series of jointly produced "orgies" which will provide the Harvard-Radcliffe community with classical music 24 hours a day during reading and exam periods. During this time, both stations will carry the same programs, except from 7-12 p.m. when each will broadcast separately.
According to Levi, negotiations between the two independent stations began Oct. 17 and concluded Monday. The agreement was ratified by WHRB's Board of Directors Nov. 20, and by the WRRB staff Monday.
