"Under a socialist system, there is always too little, but under a capitalist system, the philosophy of too much prevails." Robert H. W. Welch, Jr., of the James O. Welch Company, said last night at the Career Conference on Marketing and Merchandising.

"Salesmanship is the social tool which makes the whole American way of life possible," he added in his talk on "Sales." He spoke before a crowd of about 50 in the Winthrop House Junior Common Room.

Qualifications Noted

James J. Maheney of McKinsey & Co. Management Consultants, spoke on "Marker Research." and Malcolm P. McNair '16, of the Business School was moderator.

"Radio, TV and Movies" will be the topic tonight in the Union Lower Common Room.
