Clifford L. Alexander '55, of Lowell House and New York City, last night was elected president of the Student Council. Alexander, who succeeds Paul D. Sheats '54, defeated David P. Bicks '55 for the position.

Bicks, of Dunster and New York City, was elected Vice-President. Also nominated were William E. Bridges '55 and Joseph D. Murphy '55.

Newell B. Mack '56, of Kirkland and Madison, Wisconsin, was elected treasurer, defeating Irving K. Zola '56 and Bradley W. Stark '56. In the largest contest, Bridges won the post of secretary over four other nominees. Bridges, of Eliot and Sanford, Maine, was elected on the evening's only second balloting. Other nominees were Zola, Murphy, Richard S. Dolins '55, and Stephen L. Reynolds '55.

After the elections, the Council finished its business for the term. The Council voted unanimously to appoint a committee to study election procedures. The members also approved the motion by Stark that a College chapter of the De Molay be chartered. De Molay is a social organization sponsored by the Masons.
