Yale Selects Shulman For Law School Dean

Yale University has appointed Harry Shulman LL.B. '26, S.J.D. '27 Dean of the Law School, President A. Whitney Griswold announced Tuesday.

Shulman, who is now 50 years old, was born in Russia and has been on the Yale faculty since 1930. Before he came to Yale, how was law secretary to Louis D. Brandeis LL.B. '77, who served as associate justice of the United States Supreme Court. While teaching, he has been one of the most sought after labor arbitrators in the country, having settled the national steel strike two years ago.

A son of the new dean, Stephen N. Shulman '54, lives in Kirkland House and is concentrating in Social Relations.
