Ivy Presidents Meet In New York Parley

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Presidents of the eight Ivy Group colleges met at the University Club in New York Dec. 18th, but in accord with usual custom no announcements were issued as to what went on behind the closed doors.

It is known, however, that considerable discussion was devoted to the possibilities of a new Ivy sports agreement. A plan drawn up by the deans of the eight colleges calling for a complete Ivy League football schedule of seven games within the league for each team was presented at the meeting.

The proposed plan also called for similar leagues in basketball, tennis, track, cross country, baseball, wrestling, and lacrosse.

A seven game intra-league football slate cannot go into effect before 1956 no matter what the presidents decide, however, since schedules for the fall of 1955 have already been completed.
