Crimson Eleven Scrimmages JVs

Lloyd Jordan, seeking his first win over Columbia, and the first Crimson triumph over the Lions since 1948, sent the varsity football team through a long workout Wednesday in preparation for Saturday's game in the Stadium.

After dummy drills, the team scrimmaged heavily against the junior varsity, which employed Columbia T-formation plays. The varsity was bolstered by the return of end Bob Cochran, who has been sidelined since Thursday, when he was bumped in practice.

Joe Ross, Cochran's counterpart at end, worked out only lightly, after suffering a slight injury in the Cornell game, but Jordan expects him to be available for the Saturday game. Return of sophomore tailback Jim Joslin is also anticipated; Joslin has been out with a pulled leg muscle.

Definitely out are tackle Dick Koch, recovering from a head injury, and wingback Dexter Lewis, still benched after suffering a pulled thigh muscle.
