City to Study Daytime Parking Near Houses for School Safety

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Cambridge traffic officials will start a survey of all-day parking conditions on the streets between Leverett and Dunster Houses as the result of a City Council order issued yesterday.

Councilmen requested the survey for the safety and protection of the children in that area, since over 450 children daily attend the St. St. Paul's parochial school located on Mr. Auburn St., between the two Houses.

Bank St., McCarthy Rd., DeWolfe and Cowperthwaite Sts., long habitual day-time parking places for car owners living in Leverett and Dunster, were mentioned specifically in the order.

Action on the report might take weeks or months, officials said.
