Tufts Will Meet Eleven in 1956

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Tufts College will be the varsity football team's opening-game opponent for the 1956 season, it was learned last night from a Tufts source.

Scheduling of the game completes the football schedule for that season, which also includes seven Ivy Group games.

Thomas D. Bolles, Director of Athletics, declined to either affirm or deny the report. His only comment was that "We do not announce our schedules more than a year in advance."

Crimson Holds Edge

The game will be the 19th played between Harvard and Tufts in a series dating back to 1874. The Crimson holds a 14 to 4 lead in the series, and triumphed 49 to 0, in 1946, its most recent game with the Jumbos.

Scheduling of Tufts means that next year's opening game with the University of Massachusetts will be the last under the current agreement.

It also indicates that the 1955 game with Bucknell will not be part of a two game series.
