After five years of trying, Coach Floyd Wilson did what everyone know he would someday do: he piloted his Yardling basketball team to the first undefeated freshman season in the Crimson's history. The Yardlings topped the Yale pups, 75 to 68, at New Haven Saturday to close their season with 16 victories.
Captain Bob Dolven and center lke Canty were the big scorers for the Yardlings with 24 points each. Canty edged out Dolven by three points for the team's season high.
The game was very close, with the Yardlings falling behind by six points at one moment in the third quarter. Dolven's three shots put them in front by two points as the period ended, and they were never headed afterwards.
