Led by 6-8 center Griff McClellen, the freshman basketball team opened its season with an impressive 76-46 victory over Northeastern.
The Yardlings took an early lead, led 37-23 at the half, and were never pressed in the final 20 minutes. Weak link in the Crimson's play was defense; the team committed 30 personal fouls.
High scorer for the winners was McClellan with 17. George Harrington totaled 14, Alex Christ, 11 and Bob Repetta 10.
