First round play ended yesterday in the fourth annual University Squash Tournament. 31 of the 68 initial contestants were eliminated.

Donald A. Scott 2L, seeded first, and Ben Hockscher '57, second seed, first man on the varsity squad, load the field. Scott, who won the tournament last year, played number one on the Princeton team before coming to the Law School. Hockscher was runner-up in the '54 competition.

Jack Barnaby, varsity squash coach, commenting on the tourney, said. "We have an excellent field. There are many fine players from the Harvard squad and many top ex-intercollegiate players competing."
