Epidemic Increases Stillman's Turnover

A virus epidemic of minor proportions has hit the University, according to Miss Rita A. Corbett, Superintendent of Stillman Infirmary. In the first two weeks of February as many students entered Stillman as were admitted during the entire month last year.

Although most of the patients have virus infections. Dr. Andrew Contratto Hygine Department physician, refused to term the increase an epidemic. "Last year was particularly mild," he said, "although there have been more cases than normal this year."

The virus is not serious, however, since the average stay of each patient recently has been only four days, Contratto said. In addition, the infections are apparently letting up, he added.
