Weakened Crimson Wrestling Team Opposes Strong Cornell at Ithaca

The varsity wrestling team goes to Ithaca Saturday to meet a Cornell team which Coach Bob Pickett calls "possibly the best in the Ivy League, certainly the best we have met this year." He will have a lineup depleted by impending examinations to face the team which beat Yale 21-5.

The major changes will be in the heavier weights, with both Dick Hook and Charlie Harding out of the lineup. Joe Goodman will replace Hook at 157, while Bob Gilmor will move down from 177 pounds to fill Harding's 167 position. Sophomore Ed Raymond will wrestle his first varsity match at 177, while Pete Morrison again wrestles unlimited.

In the lighter weights the only change will be at 137 pounds, where Phil Andrews replaces Ed Keating. Captain Phil Burnaman will fill the 147 pound position, while Tatsuo Arima and John Winthrop wrestle at 123 and 130 respectively.

Although little is known about the team Cornell will use, Pickett noted that "to date they haven't been weak at any weight."
